Case 4 – the beginning

A 45 year old man is referred to Haematology clinic. He has had a battery of blood tests requested by the gastroenterologists who were investigating him for diarrhoea. These investigations revealed little except for the presence of an IgG paraprotein of 10g.

Question:

What are the important features of your history and examination?

Please respond via twitter and remember to include the hashtag #teamhaem. The case discussion is open to BMSs, doctors, nurses and students  – we want all levels of expertise to get involved. There is no such thing as a stupid comment or question so get involved! The case will be updated regularly so please keep an eye on Teamhaem and continue to contribute.
