The patient has swinging fevers up to 39oC overnight and is reviewed my the consultant on the post take ward round. The consultant has listened to #teamhaem and a number of investigations are in progress. These include: B12, folate, HIV, hepatitis B&C, CMV, EBV, percentage conjugated bilirubin, retics, sickle cell screen. Microbiology includes stool MCS and OCP, blood cultures, urine cultures, sputum MCS and AFB if produces.
The consultant notes a mildly enlarged spleen and liver but no other peripheral lymphadenopathy. A viral infection is suspected.
Coag results reveal:
PT 15 (12-14s)
APTT 32 (25-32s)
Fibrinogen 0.8
